Whisky Fest TAKAO Kaohsiung Whisky Festival Founded in 2017, Whisky Fest TAKAO – Kaohsiung Whisky Festival has grown into one of the most recognized whisky events for enthusiasts across Asia. The festival brings together global whisky importers, independent bottlers, distributors, distillery representatives, and private collectors, creating a premium platform for tasting, networking, and whisky culture exchange. Since its inception, the festival has steadily expanded in scale and reputation. The first and second editions attracted 1,000 and 1,300 ticketed visitors respectively. In 2019, the third edition moved to the iconic Pier-2 Art Center warehouse district in Kaohsiung, drawing 1,700 ticketed attendees and featuring over 70 booths and 130 whisky brands. One of the defining characteristics of Whisky Fest TAKAO is its strong international participation. In recent years, more than 40% of attendees have traveled from overseas, including visitors from Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and other mature whisky markets, making the festival an important destination for whisky lovers visiting Taiwan. The 9th edition in 2025 was held at MLD Crystal Banquet Hall in southern Kaohsiung, featuring 62 whisky exhibitors and 16 cocktail booths, and showcasing over 200 whisky brands. The two-day event welcomed 2,010 ticketed visitors, with total attendance exceeding 2,200 participants including exhibitors and industry representatives. More than just a tasting event, Whisky Fest TAKAO serves as an important platform connecting global whisky brands, industry professionals, and enthusiasts. With its growing international presence, the festival is gradually becoming one of the must-visit annual whisky events for enthusiasts across Asia.
